About KLM Airlines Unaccompanied Minor Policy

If your child is traveling alone, KLM will do its best to ensure that they are comfortable during the journey. During the flight, the airline’s staff will take care of the passengers, make sure they get on the correct plane, and help them if there are any delays or issues.

KLM only offers the unaccompanied minor service for direct flights. Kids flying alone are only allowed to travel on flights operated by KLM, Air France, and Delta Airlines.

Children Between 5 and 14 Years Old:

Are you bringing a child aged 5 to 14 without an adult who is 18 or older? Is your child traveling in a different class than the adult who will be with them? Remember to buy the KLM Unaccompanied Minor service along with the regular ticket.

Children Between 15 and 17 Years Old:

Children who are between 15 and 17 years old do not need to use the Unaccompanied Minor service. If you don’t sign up for the service, your child will be considered an adult passenger.

If your child tells KLM how old they are and that they need help if the flight is delayed or canceled, we will be happy to help. If your flight gets delayed, you can make sure that your child receives careful attention by booking the KLM Airlines Unaccompanied Minor program.
