Flexi fares

  • You can get a refund in the form of flight credit for both Economy Flexible and Premium Economy fares. This credit can be used for a future Air New Zealand flight. 
  • The cancellation fee for:
    • The cost of Economy Flexible fares for both adults and children is $300.
    • The cost of Premium Economy fares is $400 for both adults and children.
  • You can get a full refund for infant fares in all classes. 
  • If you don’t show up, you will lose your entire payment.
  • If you buy your ticket at least 7 days (168 hours) before your first flight, you can cancel it within 24 hours of purchase and get a full refund. 

Business Class fares

  • You can get a refund in the form of flight credit that you can use for a future Air New Zealand flight.
  • If you cancel before departure, you will be charged a cancellation fee of USD 500 per adult and child. 
  • You can get a full refund for infant fares. 
  • If you don’t show up, you will lose your entire payment.

Cancellation Fees for Tasman & Pacific Flights

You can fly to Tasman and the Pacific from New Zealand to Australia, New Caledonia, Samoa, Vanuatu, Norfolk Island, Fiji, Niue, Bali, Tahiti, and the Cook Islands.

  • Smart Saver Fares
    • The ticket is non-refundable and cannot be changed, except for the person or a member of their immediate family—their spouse, children (including adopted children), siblings, parents, grandparents, grandchildren, parents, brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters-in-law—die. 
    • cannot be retained in credit unless a Flexi fare upgrade is made.
    • No-shows will lose their money.
  • Economy Flexi Fares
    • Refundable in full. Only the upgraded portion of the fare is eligible for a refund if you upgrade from a Smart Saver fare.
    • No-shows receive a complete refund.
  • Business Class Fares
    • Refundable in full. Only the upgraded portion of the fare is eligible for a refund if you upgrade from a Smart Saver fare. 
    • In general, Business Saver tickets are not refundable.
